Father’s Day honors the “father heroes” in our lives.

Fathers' Day is a day of honoring fatherhood and paternal bonds, as well as the influence of fathers in society. Fathers' Day also honors the men who have no formal parental relationship but use their actions and words as a way to influence and guide others.

For the past few years, on Father’s Day, I have teamed with my friend Dean to provide dessert to the clients of St. John Divine’s Soup Kitchen. We usually purchase the lovely sheet cakes from Costco and ice cream. This year, because of social distancing and the need for the soup kitchen to provide only bagged meals during the pandemic, we decided to buy apple pie for all of the bagged meals!
